Winter Pool Maintenance

Pools need maintenance, even in the winter. We've got you covered!

If you live in an area with harsh winters, winter pool maintenance including the removal of leaves and water before it starts freezing is crucial!

Why do I have to maintain my above ground pool in the winter?

In fall leaves start falling, collecting on your pool cover, and water from the increased rain accumulates, adding a lot of weight to your winter cover. Once temperatures drop to below freezing a layer of ice impossible to remove will start forming and snow will accumulate on top. Pool water will push out from underneath the cover, also known as water displacement and the excess weight can tear the cover or rip out the grommets. In the worst case, the weight on the cover can pull on the cable which secures the cover. This will place pressure on the walls and potentially cause wall damage. Most pools make it through the winter without any damage but let's not take our chances.

Let Us Help You

  1. Reduce the stress of excess weight on the pool cover to keep grommets intact and extend the overall life of your cover.
  2. Lower the risk of water displacement to save you time & money in the spring.
  3. Keep leaves off of your cover to improve your pool opening.
