FAQ Friday - How to Prime a Pool Pump?
Make sure water from the pool is able to flow into the pump. Turn the pump is off. Open the pump’s lid and fill the pump with water using a garden hose or a bucket. Close the lid and turn the pump on. Water should start flowing through till there is only a little air bubble at the top.
FAQ Friday - Can a pool liner be patched?
Yes, depending on the size of the tear in your liner you can go to your local pool store and buy a patch kit. If you are unsure you can send us an email with picture of the hole at customerservice@fpnorth.com. To get an idea of the size hold a nickel or dime next to the hole so we can evaluate the tear.
FAQ Friday - How to clear up a green and cloudy pool?
Step 1 Shock it
Step 2 Skim the top and bottom
Step 3 Once you have visibility to the bottom, vacuum
Step 4 Run the pump and filter 24/7 and clean filter regularly
Step 5 Once clear take a sample and get it tested
Depending on how dirty your pool is, a clean and clear can take from 2 to 10 days.
Pool season is near! 💦 ☀️ Are you or someone you know still looking for a new above ground pool? Can’t afford an inground pool?
Are you tired of looking at steel wall pools?

📆 With pool season slowly approaching you might be wondering about the best time to open your pool this spring. 🌱
While it depends entirely on the area and climate you live in, it is better to open your pool sooner rather than later.
If you open it too early you might end up wasting energy since it's still too cold for swimming. Waiting too long will also cost you more money as the warmer temperatures promote algae growth.
Ultimately it is up to you but as a general rule of thumb, you can open your pool when outside temperatures are above 70 degrees. ☀️
Are you planning on building a pool deck this Summer? ☀️ Because we hope to inspire you.
Every other week we will share an above ground pool deck to give you ideas. If you already have one and want to share it with us and fellow pool owners, send us a PM and we will post it to our social media channels.

❓Customers commonly ask “When should I close my pool for winter?” ❄️
Depending on where you live people close their pools at different times. Most people close their pools because they are done using it, while others don’t want to continuously keep skimming and scooping leaves in the Fall. 🍂
If you are still unsure there is one rule of thumb you can follow. Typically the recommended time to close your pool is when the water is consistently below 60 degrees. At that temperature algae and microorganisms can’t grow anymore, which helps keep the water clear.
